Imani Garner is an Administrator at ViacomCBS supporting the General Counsel. She also coordinates with the Creative Music Integration and Strategy team on music licensing clearances and rescores. She is a member and has served as a project consultant at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Prior to working for ViacomCBS, she has worked in various roles within the recording industry including radio research, A&R, A&R administration and business affairs at Columbia Records, Universal, Warner and Capitol Music Group.
Imani earned her bachelor’s from New York University in Music Business and Technology. At NYU she served as President of the Music Business Association@NYU. She began her career producing music and songwriting and is an advocate for girls and women in production and the arts. A strong believer in cultural exchange and education, she has traveled extensively to over 25 countries, and studied abroad in South Africa and Cuba, influencing her appreciation for the global impact of music and includes ethnomusicology as one of her hobbies.
