Pass the Aux: September

Pass the Aux is a monthly series that highlights music created by women and gender expansive artists.

September is here and full of new music! This month we're also taking a moment to highlight some of the artists from BBG Boston's and BBG Fort Collins' We're Here Fest. Check out these 6 songs by your new favorite women and gender expansive artists.

1. Take - BRUX, Kimbra

BRUX and Kimbra teamed up for this Sharpay-Evans-esque banger. Last weekend, Kimbra visited BBG Boston for the first ever - a 3-day songwriting and production camp created by and for women and gender expansive people.

PERFECT FOR: wanting it all!

FOR FANS OF: Gwen Stefani, Ke$ha, Crystal Castles

2. All Over This Party - Sans Soucis

This is one of those songs you can't help but dance to. Sans Soucis encapsulates the joy of getting ready with your friends before a night out. Beautiful vocal harmonies, infectious bass lines, we can't wait to hear more from them!

PERFECT FOR: the party before the party

3. Zest Please - CloZee, Maddy O'Neal

Get ready world, Maddy O'Neal is here! From her debut at Lollapalooza to headlining BBG Fort Collins' We're Here Fest, Maddy has made a huge splash this summer. This is the song that put her on the map.

PERFECT FOR: festival vibes, transcendental moments

4. Running Round - Mercury

A cathartic high energy anthem for everyone who is, well, tired of running round! We won't lie, it was hard picking just one song to feature off of Mercury's album "tabula rasa."

PERFECT FOR: when enough is enough

FOR FANS OF: Princess Nokia, Shygirl, Dua Saleh

5. Just Like You - Jelie

The multi-talented Denver-based Jelie pushes the boundaries. Earlier this year she won the Hit Like a Girl Beatmaking Contest. This past weekend she also performed at BBG Fort Collins' We're Here Fest. We're so glad she's part of the BBG family!

PERFECT FOR: peeling back the layers

FOR FANS OF: Missy Elliot, Noname, Tech N9ne

6. bloom - modrn

modrn brings a bittersweet indie pop moment with their song "bloom." Another We're Here Fest performer, the Colorado based duo have performed together for over a decade. Their wide range of influences can be heard throughout their discography.
